John and Cindy McCain Have How Many Houses?

Candy Spelling may not recall whether her humongous house has 23 or 26 bathrooms but septuagenarian Republican presidential contender John McCain can't seem to remember how many houses he and his beer distributor heiress wifey Cindy own. Come on! Really?

Your Mama would not expect Senator McCain to accurately say how many pairs of shoes are in his closet or the number of rubber bands taking up space in his junk drawer, but we certainly expect he be able to count the number of damn homes he owns. Pleeze.

Mister McCain may not be able to count all his seven residences, but the Wonkette website sure can. They counted the McCain's $10,000,000 private plane for good measure too.

Wow -- I knew this gaffe would get some legs, but I didn't expect it to turn up in a very non-political blog. This is fantastic, and definitely what the Obama campaign needed!

So who cleans all those terlits in those 10-12 houses? You know it ain't Cindy McCain. Having a ton of servants is elitist, ain't it.

Anonymous said...

Apparently they own 7 homes across the country, including two luxury condos on the coast in Cali, a ranch in Arizona, more condos, and a $10 million jet to travel to all of them too! No, not elitist at all. Of course, Barry has lots of money too...but at least his is self-made, and that somehow makes it better for me.

PUUULEASE! Yet another reason to vote for Obama!

How many household servants do they have, and what country are they from?

He's a total retard, and is exhibiting signs of dementia. If American's elect him President, then they deserve what they are going to get-just as has occured for the past 8 years.

please, give me a break. does john mccain seem like the kind of guy who would really keep track of how many condos his wife has accumulated in the southland and for whom? don't you get it, they are not his!!!! they are cindy's, and i would imagine that cindy is used to doing what she damn well pleases and that john is informed after the fact or when the subject comes up. not that he cares. i mean it's not going to affect his life one iota. and you should note that the value of the place that john lives in most of the time, that would be the one outside washington, is valued under one million.

i don't see why this is a big deal. i mean who wouldn't mind owning 7 houses. I know I wouldn't. Obama made $4.2 million last year. Oh yeah, he is real in touch.

At the end of the day, it comes down to privilege. McCain or Obama both have privileges that John Joe doesn't have.

Also, I don't know a single person who prays that they just have enough to get by. Everybody I know wants more than enough. So why hate on someone who has more than enough.

Anonymous said...

No David, McCain doesn't strike me as the kind of person who could keep track of whether he & his wife have 4 homes, 7 homes, or 15 homes. Or whether he has already had dinner this evening. How soon before he starts calling Cindy "Mommie" like Reagan called Nancy? Should someone that senile be president?

Anonymous said...

I agree...I think McCain's gaffe points more to early-onset dementia than anything else; Also, noone who can afford to run for President is going to be in touch with the "average" American when it comes to economics, we essentially live in a psuedo-democratic plutocracy, and everyone pretty much knows it...What I find more interesting is they tracked down one of Barack Obama's half-brothers, living in Africa on less than $1 a day...wow, if he does win, Billy Carter and Roger Clinton are going to pale in comparison to the Obama relatives that are going to crawl out of the woodwork worldwide...I've never been so apathetic about a Presidential election since I turned 18, this may indeed be the first time I don't vote for President - I hope one of them makes a VP pick soon that can convince me to sway one way or the other...;-)

And also - Hmmm, 1st John Kerry & billionairess Theresa Heinz, Now John & Cindy McCain...I'm starting to wonder...ARE ALL OF OUR SENATORS GIGOLOS? LOL

well, anonymous you have revealed yourself as one fine fella (or 'lady' as the case may be). you're a 'liberal' sort apparently untiil it comes to the subject of age and then. . . of course if we were discussing the seventy-some- odd teddy kennedy none of this would come up with you. i was attempting to inject a bit of social (NOT POLITICAL) commentary into the discussion. that would be commentary about the nuances of this particular life (the mccain's) but you just want to reduce it all to partisan idiocy. oh yes, we all believe that he got to this point because he's completely senile and is on the verge of confusing cindy for mommie (who btw is still alive and quite amazing).

so_chic_darling said...

It's not hating, it's just that if you don't even know how many homes you own how can you be trusted to know ANYTHING?

Well there are a few things to remember about McCain and his character, aside from his not knowing where he is without being told by some flunkie. He rapidly dumped his first wife when she became crippled by an accident and married the glamorous Miss RichBitch who channels, so I read, Princess Di. Obama has some money, so do most politicos. It is difficult to rise to the top of politics on a base of poverty. But McCain is far far richer (cum wifey) than Obama. And the worst of it is that McCain serves the greedy rich and the Wall Street pigs with his policies; Obama will at least make some efforts to restore some balance and fairness in American society.

dane said...

chis, anonymous, so chic darling: if you really want to elect obama the next president then i suggest you stop talking, because you are definitely NOT helping the cause. but then, in this insular little world called The Reastalker, you're just talking to people who think exactly the same way you do. so no harm done. tonight's discussion reminds me why it has always been said that a career in real estate is often the last resort. . .

Anonymous said...

No David,

I'd feel the same way if Teddy Kennedy was running for president.

It isn't about McCain's age, it's about his signs of senility. If he were as on top of things as 8 years ago, I'd be voting for him. As it stands, I think Cindy will be feeding him his oatmeal within a couple of years. Actually - I think she will hire someone to feed him while she jets off to another of their many homes.

McCain's time was 8 years ago (and I would have voted for him) but we got a moron with a puppet master pulling the strings.

Anonymous said...

And David, hang around a while and you might find out we are not all in real estate.

What is that saying about the pot calling the kettle black? I'm ageist if I suggest one person is senile but you can generalize that everyone here has a "last resort" career (presumably in real estate) because this is a celebrity real estate blog.

On second thought, don't hang around. We already have one annoying troll.

C'mon, David, just who do you think you're talking to?

"…they are not his!!!! they are cindy's, and i would imagine that cindy is used to doing what she damn well pleases and that john is informed after the fact or when the subject comes up…"

We're not talking some pricey bauble she wants to sneak past McCain in the bottom of a Birkin bag; it's a residence. You know, a place he's at least slept in once.

At least have the courage of your convictions: "…i was attempting to inject a bit of social (NOT POLITICAL) commentary into the discussion. that would be commentary about the nuances of this particular life (the mccain's) but you just want to reduce it all to partisan idiocy…"

Social commentary? Please. Mama didn't raise no stupid chillruns. That was nothing more than a sadly veiled attempt to defend the indefensible.

Now, do you have a comment about said real estate? Blog away - be Mama's guest. Want to debate politics? Then go find the appropriate site; the chillruns come here to talk celebrities, real estate, and the comic conjunction of the two. Read the banner; it says, "The Real Estalker", not "Candidate Smackdown."

dane said...

lil gay boy: the original item by the real estalker was political. thus it follows that the comments would be political. and that would include your comment. and every single other comment, but interestingly you singled out mine. . . i have nothing to say decorating-wise about 'said real estate' or the 'residence' (i really hope that's ironic) because the real estalker offers no insight on that one here . and you know damn well that what mccain was unclear about was how many little condominiums one of his wife's trusts may own, and not the houses that he and his family use on a regular basis. that would be washington, phoenix, sedona, and coronado.

A man who has to consult an assistant to clarify how many homes he and his decades long wife have between them is not someone we can afford to inherit the economy Bush mangled. Republicans have no credibility left to lose, and need substantial time out in the pasture to reflect on what the values of integrity and morality, not to mention competence mean to preserving our nation's greatness. Dear Lord in Heaven, Please don't let another Republican get elected, and Please let Obama choose Hillary as his running mate ;)

The number of houses, (or "servants", for that matter) a person has has NOT ONE THING to to with a person's ability to tun the country. Let's not lose sight of the facts here. Obama lives in a "mansion" himself...and I'm sure has "servants" of his own (by the way, I'm pretty sure no-one has "servants" anymore, people. It's a paid job just like any other...either that, or I guess we're all "servants")...so what IS the point? This stupidity does NOTHING but detract the important facts of this or any election.

If any of you think for a minute that an liberal, domocratic candidate is living in poverty or is "just like you!", you're deluding yourself. They ALL make millions...ALL have big houses, nice cars, and "servants". Yes, EVEN saint OBAMA. The one thing he doean't have???? EXPERIENCE ENOUGH TO RUN THIS COUNTRY!

hello gorgeous said...

David - why so defensive? Seven is not that many homes to be able to identify. Eve you seem to know how many he has and you don't even live there.

Anon 5:41 - I love when idiots buy into the rhetoric. W had the experience of running the state of Texas and look at the damage he did to our country with his "experience."

Anonymous said...

One interesting side note here: If Obama does not win the general election, he is going to be rich beyond his wildest dreams in speaking engagements, book deals, etc. He'll own far more than 7 houses when all is said and done if he is not President, probably enough to lose count at some point.

Anonymous said...

Probably couldn't tell you the color of the leather in the jet. The man is smart and has served this country for many years. I'd rather have him thinking about how to clean up the bush mess.

Anonymous said...

My eye is on Brian Rogers, McCain's PR spinner. How many hours or days will pass before an announcement that he has left the campaign to explore "other opportunities?"

His latest clarification to foggy house numbers...

Go Obama!

wat is fuck ?

I am only 8 and my mum and dad will not tell me and when I ask them they get mad at me

is it a bad word ?

Anonymous said...

Who cares how many homes he has? Seriously, what's wrong with being wealthy? I think it's ridiculous that this is even a debate and just shows you how desperate Obama is becoming....especially now that his lead is getting smaller.

Anonymous said...

People! How does partisan politics make rational citizens so ignorant? Not everyone who holds a different political viewpoint than you is stupid or evil...Republicans: It's conceivable that the elder McCain's inability to recall how many residences he & his wife (more accurately his wife) own offers some insight into his mental faculties, how in-touch he is with his own family finances, how detail-oriented he may be and/or how focused he is on politics with no real business background...Democrats: It's conceivable that he holds very little interest in his wife's money because he is focused on his political career and/or it is conceivable that Mrs. McCain has trust-layered-upon-trust which own properties for investment purposes or for family members -and maybe some are selling properties and some are in the process of buying...and maybe he's not quite certain of his lawyer's definition of 'own' at this point because his wife owns a minority interest in a company that owns a property which is proportionately consolidated on teh balance sheet of another company majority owned by someone else. Sh** gets complicated.

Anonymous said...

The question wasn't how many investment properties the couple own, but how many residences they OCCUPY.

So as I see it, the problem is NOT that he and Cindy are rich (who cares? Most pols are, including Obama.) and have multiple homes. It's that he looks like a doddering and not particularly sharp minded old man when he can't easily and simply say, "Cindy and I live primarily in condos in Phoenix and Washington, but we have vacation homes in the San Diego area and Sedona as well."

Is the number of homes you actually use in the course of your day to day life really so hard for a person to remember?

Anonymous said...

Come on people, it's not like we're talking about Joe Average down the street. Neither of these candidates are in touch with the average citizen. Sure, Obama and wife may have grown up poor/middle class, but they ain't now and you can't tell me that someone who hits it big making tons of money even WANTS to remember what it was like to be poor. This is how the parties do it every single damn election. Dems attack saying Rep are out of touch, they're all rich, they're all religious, blah blah blah...Rep say Dems are out of touch because they're all liberals, they're going to tax us to death, they're all atheists. Neither of which is true in EITHER case. Why is anyone falling for this horseshit? I just wish the whole damn election was over because I don't like either candidate. You mean to tell me out of 300million people this is the best we can do?

Now how funny is that. Cindy Brady channels Di! Well, big F'in deal. I've channeled Joey Heatherton for years! I've got the hair to proof it, too! And speaking of how many houses Grand Dragon McCain & Co owns... could anyone imagine Don-Old Trump not knowing exactly how many homes he owns? Or how many units are listed under his corporate name? Grandpa McCain just didn't want to spill the beans without checking with the PR team to see what sort of number would sound reasonable for an innocent like Ketchup (as his security team calls him). ... they just keep coming don't they?!

One of McCain's former homes, at 7110 N Central Ave, Phoenix, AZ, is up for sale at Yahoo! Real Estate for $12 million. It is omg tacky, though I don't think the McCains can be blamed for the current furnishings.

Anonymous said...

CINDY IS LOADED, SO WHAT!!! WHAT DOES THAT HAVE TO DO WITH MCCAIN BEING A GOOD PRESIDENT??

Anonymous said...

Its got do with being out of touch with the average American. It also illustrates that he is the elitist that he is calling his opponent. Most Americans are fed up with what Bush has done to this country. McCain promises to deliver more of the same.

McCain has a rich wife who owns numerous properties -- of which he does not bother to keep track. He probably cannot tell you much about the Mrs.' finances.

Meanwhile, Obama has a double-lot mansion underwritten by a convicted felon.

Guess what? Presidential candidates are not like ordinary Americans. Hardly shocking.

"McCain has a rich wife who owns numerous properties-- of which he does not bother to keep track."
McCain has been married to his wife for 28 years!!! I would hope he is involved in his own wealth building. If not, that is a huge indication he is not the right person for the job.

I think McSame is senile.

The Obamas house cost 1.6m.

Mrs. Rezko (who hasn't been convicted of anything) bought the lot next door for 625k.

The two lots had been one property but the previous owners split the property when they sold them.

Mrs. Rezko sold her lot in 2006. She did not sell it to the Obamas.

Yes, it is true that a 10 foot wide strip of the lot was sold to the Obamas prior to her selling her lot. 10 foot wide is hardly a "lot".

So by comparison, how much are the McCains residences worth?

So Obama's house is not "double lot", it wasn't "underwritten" by Rezko, and the Obamas bought the house 3 years before Rezko was convicted of anything.

If these are the lies we're going to hear from the Republicans before the election, what will we hear if McCain were elected?

Did McSenile know Cindy was rich when he started having an affair with her while still married to his first wife - you know..the one that waited patiently for him through his POW years, and even kept that fact that she had been in a terrible car accident that left her crippled because she didn't want to add to his worries? I read an interesting quote by her that McSenile "was turning 40 and wanted to act 25" and that was why he had a series of affairs (even before meeting Cindy). And the Repugnants though Clinton getting a blow job was bad?
