Your Mama Hears...

...through the celebrity real estate gossip grapevine that New York City-based comedy couple Will Arnett and Amy Poehler have vacated–or will soon vacate–the Beverly Hills, CA mansion they've been leasing since the end of 2009.

Three-time Emmy-nominated Miz Poehler, a veteran of Saturday Night Live, currently stars in the sitcom Parks and Recreation. Over the years she's exercised her funny bone in a slew of movies that include Baby Momma and Mean Girls with gal pal and SNL alum Tina Fey. Three-time Emmy-nominated Mister Arnett's film and television credits include Arrested Development, Blades of Glory, 30 Rock and Brief Interviews With Hideous Men. He most recently starred in the spectacularly un-funny sitcom Running Wilde, a show that was mercifully removed from the air.

The gated 1926 East Coast-style traditional the Arnett-Poehlers leased sits behind a high hedge on a pretty palm tree-lined street in the Bev Hills flats. The property is currently listed for sale with an asking price of $6,995,000 and for lease with a hair-raising $29,000 per month price tag. Listing information shows the updated residence includes 4 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms plus a staff suite with private pooper. Other features include a paneled family room with wet bar, a cook's kitchen with center island and park-like grounds with a heated swimming pool and cabana in the backyard.

As the Missing Persons sang back in the 1980s, "nobody walks in L.A." But iffin they did, the Arnett-Poehlers could push their strollers–they have two wee boy children–over to several Sunset Boulevard estates owned by other rich and famous folks including über entrepreneurs Stewart and Lynda Resnick (they own Teleflora, FIJI Water, POM Wonderful), Guess Jeans' co-founder Georges Marciano and pop-grandma Madonna.

No word on if the Arnett-Poehlers intend to maintain a West Coast abode or if they plan to high tail it back to New York City where they own a 2,446 square foot condominium with a wrap around terrace at the architecturally banal One Morton Square building in the far West Village. The droll duo acquired their current crib in the NYC in April of 2007. Property records and previous reports reveal they paid $5,275,000 for the apartment just a few months prior to selling a smaller apartment in the same building for $2,200,000.

At this point, we have no idea where the "truth' lies in the Dakota business.
It certainly is ironic that this building, bastion of monied lefties, is now being accused of racism. Remember, it was ground zero for what came to be dubbed "radical chic," based on the salon evenings that Leonard Bernstein and his wife put together to introduce their friends to members of the Black Panthers.
In recent times, I believe the Board's ideal buyer profile has more to do with the multiples of sale price the buyer has in liquid assets than anything else. It's notoriously difficult to buy there, and hence very difficult to sell as well. I understand that many agents advise against looking/offering because generally it's a complete waste of everyone's time.

Running Wilde wasn't spectacularly unfunny. If it was given a chance for retooling, it would have been one of the better shows on TV. The interactions between Will Arnett and Peter Serafinowicz were almost always hilarious. It was just brought down by boring Keri Russell and the annoyingly precocious daughter. If it was just about two dysfunctional rich kids blowing money on vodka cellars it would have been a not-miss show.

Again with the dog whistle analogy...

Both Running Wilde & Parks and Recreation are, IMHO, two of the most seriously unfunny shows on TV today.

Shame, really; I believe Ms. Poehler is one of the most gifted comediennes around ––– the material, however? Not even her impeccable comic timing can save it.

As for her partner? Well, there's that damn dog whistle ––– never found him the least bit funny, although he came close on Arrested Development. Shows what can happen to iffy material in some hands... for me he just brings to mind the quote attributed to Lillian Gish when asked why she didn't do more comedy: "Me? I'm about as funny as a baby's cry for help..."

Too bad about Running Wilde, though; if for no other reason that since the recent mismanagement of the Sands Point Park & Preserve (by the nepotistic "Friends" of said institution), it's been nearly impossible to get near the fabulous Hempstead House, built by Gould & bought by Guggenheim, where it was filmed. Rumor has it funds to restore the seawall were diverted to provide things like parking amenities for film crews.

Isn't "architecturally banal" 1 Morton Square where Daniel Radcliffe purchased one of his New York apartments not so long ago? Since by my count he has at least three NYC properties, I wonder where he will live while he is on Broadway in How To Succeed..., assuming the musical runs for more than a few weeks.

Amy's Parks and Rec films in LA. Unless it gets cancelled, they'll be hanging around for quite a while.

I LOVE "Parks and Recreations" and thought "Running Wilde" was funny too, although I didn't see much of that show.

They'll probably stay in LA for a while, since Parks is still running.
